Born in the teasing mind of the talented Greg Bette, Garçon de Plage sketches a long-distance connection between Paris and California. Amour Aveugle , the singer-songwriter's second album, after the self-produced L'Ennui (2017), celebrates the budding spring and the coming summer. From the introduction, the aptly named Musique de Yacht, the Paris based musician's intentions are clear: to transport you on a boat sailing on a peaceful ocean on a clear day. Greg will be with you, the Garçon de Plage (French translation for “Beach Boy”), has prepared a chic and shocking cocktail of undulating pop. In French, please. Greg Bette does not hide his intentions; Amour Aveugle prolongs the pleasure of the soft-rock west-coast albums of the late seventies, somewhere between the Doobie Brothers and the glossy productions of Quincy Jones. The writing is neat, the aesthete was brought up with the pop of the Beach Boys. The mischievous texts evoke Katerine while the neat organic production summons the best of the French-speaking variety from the turn of the 70s and 80s (France Gall, Diane Tell, Michel Jonasz, Michel Berger). Amour Aveugle is also a human adventure, recorded between Paris, Chicago, Vitry sur Seine or New York, Greg collaborated with artists including Joachim and Juliette from Pearl and the Oysters, Woody Goss and Joe Dart, the inimitable bassist of Vulfpeck (Amour Aveugle, Jacuzzi Jazz) and more (Noé Benita, David Sultan, Oscar Siffritt, Neima Naouri...). All this beauty contributes to make Amour Aveugle a singular pleasure in the current French scene.
