Departure Kids, voilà un nom qui résonne comme un appel du pied aux Real Kids, ce groupe de Boston qui mit en émoi bien des adolescents épris de pop mélodique et nerveuse. Nos Kids à nous viennent de Marseille et en découvrant leur 45 tours on est tombé amoureux à leur renverse de leur powerpop. Il y a chez ces gamins (même pas 20 piges) un art de la chanson pop bien troussée au lignage élégant (Badfinger, Redd Kross etc.). Ces quatre là traînent leurs baskets dans la fabuleuse scène punk marseillaise (Sun Sick, La Flingue, les Jolis etc.) mais ne cachent pas leur amour pour les harmonies des Beatles. L'équilibre entre énergie punk et chanson pop sonne sacrément juste. Tournées après tournées (jusqu'en Chine!) les Departure Kids soufflent un vent d'air frais sur la pop, en lui redonnant des couilles. Howlin' Banana et Requiem Pour Un Twister sont très fiers de vous présenter le premier album de ces quatre garçons plein d'avenir, On The Go !
